Brian Rajan Nagendra has 20 years’ experience in impact investing, real estate finance, community development finance and community economic development investing both debt and equity at the project, structured fund and balance sheet levels. He has served a variety of roles from investment origination, portfolio management, special servicing, workout negotiation, structuring, and underwriting as well as investment operations and other project and program management roles.

Previously, he was the Associate Director of Impact Investments at Spring Point Partners leading portfolio management, restructurings and responsible for investment originations and sourcing. He was the Assistant Director of the Catalyst Funds and part of the Capital Innovation team at Living Cities, where he managed Living Cities' $75 million impact investment portfolio and led fundraising, sourcing, due diligence and underwriting for the Catalyst Impact Funds. Previously, Brian ran deal development, underwriting, structuring, portfolio management and fundraising for City First Enterprises Impact Investing Fund, a $10 million fund that financed 350 affordable housing units and leveraged an additional $50 million in private and public capital. At the Community Builders, an affordable housing developer and manager focused on comprehensive community revitalization, Brian supported the launch of a new financial education, job training, and afterschool resident services platform. At the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Center Urban Markets Initiative, Brian coordinated a pilot funding program for new information tools to address urban policy problems and tested alternative metrics to identify new economic development opportunities.

Brian serves on the on the board of directors for: Working Solutions, a small business lender in the SF Bay area, the investment committee of the Barra Foundation, and the finance committee of 3rd Street Youth a health services and housing organization that serves the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhoods in SF. Previously, he was the Treasurer of the Washington Area Community Investment Fund from 2016-2025 and an Advisor to the newly formed Ujima Fund in Boston.

Brian has a BA in Public Policy with a focus on Urban Planning and Policy from Brown University and an MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in real estate, finance, alternative investments and community development.
